“Be anxious in nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ.” Philippians 4: 6-7

Staying inpatient until Glenn
Caleb's team of doctors and surgeons all met this morning to discuss his history and progress. They reviewed his cath results, echoes, and reports and addressed the big "discharge" question. My cardiologist came to talk with me after the conference and shared the results that it was a unanimous decision that Caleb would need to remain in the hospital until after the Glenn surgery. I cried and cried; however, I was honestly not completely surprised. That is the best decision and care for him. She said that he is just so fragile and they are concerned with the function of his heart and his wall movement. Selfishly, however, I am very sad. I'm not sure how we will handle this as a family. It is tearing me up. It has already been a long time and will be a lot longer. We will just take it one day at a time, I guess. Right now, I'm just really wishing I could run.

ReplyDeleteI am crying with you. I can not imagine how hard this isfor all of you. The only comfort I can give is God IS in control and we know that this is temporary and you will all be a family under one roof soon! Praying fof you all.
ReplyDeleteI know this puts such a strain on you and your family. I'm praying for Caleb, you and your family. Try to stay strong and hang on through this. In a few years when he's running around to keep up with his siblings you'll know it was all worth it.
ReplyDeleteLove to you and your family.
