We've got a Walker

Caleb accomplished a huge milestone this weekend.  For the past few months, the boys have said their goal was to see him walk from home plate to 1st base by the end of summer (a month ago, he was only taking one step.). Wouldn't you know, after Jake's final baseball game of the season, we took him on the field, & on the 4th attempt... He did it!  All the way, unassisted!  I was fighting tears, the kids were elated!  We officially have a walker!  Woop woop! He has a sedated echo this week so please pray all goes smooth!

  1. Woo! Woot! Way to go Caleb! What a little superstar! This time next year he will be running the whole field!
Lot's of prayers for him (and you) that his echo is normal, and all goes well! :)

  2. Great to catch up with the Daniel Family! Caleb is doing fantastic! The walker is such a GREAT idea. Will never had one, and did not take a step until 2 years of age. Caleb is so strong! :-) We befriended another HLHS baby on Facebook that is here in Franklin by the name of NICO...we just introduced ourselves yesterday. I wasn't sure if you knew the family already?
We are headed back to Michigan this Summer, as Will is due for a liver Biopsy and Cardiac Cath and labs for his post 10 year Fontan Followup. He will be 14 so we have gone as long as we can! :-) This is a new guideline that is suggested for them at 10 years post Fontan out of the Research from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). We are working out the details of when/if we will go.

Will starts HIGH SCHOOL in the Fall, can you believe it? He will be in the Marching Band. I have faith that Caleb will be playing baseball by then and stealing those bases! :-) Praying that the feedings continue to improve and he continues to enjoy all of his yummy favorites. Take good care and know that we are always here for you and pray for Caleb and his continued progress. Keep in touch and hope to see you guys this summer! Blessings, The Severson Family
